Privacy Policy
Last updated 10 July 2026
This policy explains what personal data TheWebVillage collects when you use this website (https://www.thewebvillage.com), why we collect it, and the rights you have over it. We collect as little as we can get away with, and we don't sell or rent it to anyone.
Who we are
This site is operated by Web-Village Ltd (company no. 14461072), registered in England & Wales, trading as TheWebVillage. Registered office: 788 North Circular Road, London, England, NW2 7TD. We are the data controller for the information described below.
What we collect
When you submit the contact form, we collect your name, email address, company name (if provided), what you're interested in (if selected), and the message you send. The only thing stored in your browser is a lightweight preference (light or dark mode), kept in localStorage on your device — it's never transmitted to us and contains no personal data.
We use Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights to see aggregate traffic and page-load performance. Both are cookieless — they don't set any tracking cookie, don't use persistent identifiers, and don't track you across other sites. Visits are identified by a hashed value derived from the request rather than your IP address, that hash is discarded after 24 hours, and we only ever see anonymised, aggregated numbers, never individual visitor profiles.
Why we collect it
Solely to respond to your enquiry, prepare a written estimate, and, if you decide to work with us, deliver the engagement. Our legal basis is legitimate interest (responding to enquiries you initiated) and, where a contract follows, performance of that contract.
Who we share it with
Contact form submissions are delivered via Resend, our transactional email provider, which processes the message content solely to route it to our inbox. This site is hosted on Vercel, which also provides the cookieless analytics described above. We don't share your data with advertisers, data brokers, or any other third party.
How long we keep it
Enquiry data is kept for as long as needed to respond to you and, if we start working together, for the duration of the engagement plus our standard record-keeping period. You can ask us to delete it sooner at any time.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal data we hold about you, restrict or object to how it's used, and request a copy in a portable format. To exercise any of these, email info@thewebvillage.com. You can also lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk) if you believe your data has been mishandled.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Material changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
